Representation is a requirement under various regulations. The core concept  is to be the local addressee for authorities and other stakeholders. The representative facilitates and leads all interactions with these stakeholders, which requires subject matter expertise and communication channels ready for this purpose. Under some regulations there are quality requirements for the representative which aim to ensure the skills, resources, and facilities necessary to responsibly fill the role . Under some regulations the representative is also liable for clients’ non-compliance  which makes proper insurance and creditworthiness essential. The representative should also be able to educate clients on the legal requirements and monitor the regulatory landscape.
